Best in Show and a $500 cash prize sponsored by The Marketplace at Augusta was awarded to Tanya Fletcher of Saco for her painting entitled “Trunk III”. Of Fletcher’s work juror Britta Konau wrote, “This oil on panel beautifully translates the natural forms of leaves and the female body into almost geometric clarity. At the same time, the piece succeeds in evoking a touching vulnerability and sense of loss as a season seems to come to an end, which makes it a powerful contemporary approach to the age-old subject of the female nude. Highly impressive is also the level of painting skill and workmanship with silver leaf.”
